“Our life is love, and peace, and tenderness: and bearing one with another,…and helping one another.” – Isaac Penington

,

Giving shelter and a good meal to fellow travelers and Friends has been a part of our mission since 1897. You are welcome to stay in our home of 26 long term residents and staff and to be a part of our long term “experiment in what love can do”. As our community continues to diversity, we are working on recognizing and addressing the way Racism still subtly shapes our thoughts and actions creating new trauma. We invite you to join us in this learning experience. One of our favorite books is My Grandmothers Hands by Resmaa Menakem. You may also like to learn about our new Bayard Rustin Residency. We ask that when you stay with us to please wrap all your interactions in tenderness and love for everyone in our community, and take time to reflect on how seeing the light in everyone calls us to lessen racism and help heal racial trauma.
